Welcome Affordable Housing’s Renovation Program! Our mission is to transform homes that are not up to code into beautiful, safe, and affordable housing units for qualified applicants.
Identifying Homes in Need
Inga Mathis, our dedicated owner, actively seeks out homes that fail to meet current building codes. These homes are then evaluated to determine the scope of necessary renovations.
Developing Renovation Plans
Once a home is identified, Inga collaborates with her construction team to outline the required renovations. This initial assessment helps set the stage for a comprehensive renovation plan.
Similar to an HGTV design competition, students are invited to submit their design ideas for each unit. The winning design is selected to be implemented in the renovation.
The selected design is then submitted to the city for approval. This step ensures that all renovations comply with local regulations and standards.
Creating a Renovation Plan & Budget
Upon receiving city approval, Inga and her construction team finalize a detailed renovation plan. This includes timelines, tasks, and responsibilities for the renovation project.
A comprehensive budget is developed, covering materials, installation, and other necessary items. This budget ensures that the project stays on track financially.

Renovations are projected to take approximately 90 days per unit. During this period, our construction team works diligently to transform the unit according to the approved design plan
Once renovations are complete, the unit is listed on our website. Qualified applicants can then express their interest in occupying the newly renovated home.
Our Renovation Program is continuously updated on our website and is available to qualified applicants. We strive to make the dream of homeownership a reality for more people in our community.
Join us in our mission to create beautiful, safe, and affordable homes for everyone. Together, we can build a better future, one home at a time.
